The most versatile bench in the world... but better? It has been decades since the original Ironmaster Super Bench has been released. During that time-frame the Super Bench became one of the most popular adjustable benches on this planet due to it's versatility, functionality and durability.
It offered various attachments which were compact and allowed you to train your whole body in a space of a few square meters.
The one drawback with the Super Bench was that it was slightly higher in the flat bench position. This was to accommodate the adjustment ring. For most users in the past, this was a worthy trade off. The adjustment ring made it so easy to change angles.
However specialized strength training continues to gain momentum and trainers are wanting to really work on their bench press numbers. To get the most out of this exercise you need to get lower so you can get some leg drive. The Super Bench PRO has been designed to accommodate this trend.
The new, improved version offers a hefty amount of improvements, which separates the two benches apart.
If you have trained on the Ironmaster Super Bench, the first two things you've noticed was the height and the thickness of the pad. Ironmaster engineers shortened the bench to 44 cm, which now conforms to the standards of Powerlifting Equipment.
The pad itself was also greatly reduces in thickness. Ironmaster now offer a shorter in thickness, yet denser back rest pad.
No longer an optional extra
There is no need to deadlift and strongman carry the bench whenever you want to perform a different exercise.
The wheel-kit will now come as standard rather than an optional extra.
Wider, better, stronger
The decrease in height was not the only modification which was made to the back rest pad in the process of converting this bench into a powerlifting style bench.
The back rest pad width was increased to 26.6cm, which gives you slightly more stability during heavy bench press.
While being slightly wider it is still narrower than the benches used in competitions. The reason Ironmaster did this was to allow your shoulder to sit outside of the bench so you could exercise through the whole range of motion without putting any additional stress on your shoulders.
Another improvement of the Pro version compared to the Original is wider base and larger foot tubes for improved stability.
A true Flat Bench
While some might find the handling of the Ironmaster seat bothersome, Ironmaster Super Bench remains the only true adjustable flat bench .
The two position seat can be easily attached to the side of the bench without the need of any pins. The seat narrows at the top, so it would not cut into the inside of your legs.
The Easiest Adjustment System
Ironmaster Super Benches features a patented adjustment system (Patented design US 6,994,661). The laser cut adjustment ring with foot lever can be operated from both sides and clicks in instantaneously.
The Original version featured a pull pin which also served as a locking pin. This prolonged the process of tightening/changing the super bench attachments. The Pro version features a separated locking and tightening knobs, allowing you to change the attachments much quicker.
11 Adjustment Angles
Ironmaster Super Bench Pro can be converted to Flat, Incline and Upright bench. If you want to perform decline bench exercises you will need to purchase Crunch Sit-up Attachment.
Adjustment angles - 0, 5,10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 and 85 degrees.
Incline seat height from the floor in the full upright position is 32 cm / 37 cm.
Compatible Super Bench Attachments
Reducing the height of the bench did bring a couple of downsides to the PRO version. American Engineers had to re-design the attachments in order to make them fit.
A new Leg Attachment has been released for the pro version, also the pro version cannot plug in the Cable Tower Attachment due to the height differences.
Hypercore attachment can still be used with this bench, but at a lesser, 41 degree angle.
Flat Pack to Fully Functional bench in less than 10 minutes?
Ironmaster Super Bench Pro comes pre-assembled except for feet. Only simple tools are required to assemble the bench.
