The Powertec Compact Leg Sled is a great value machine to supplement your leg training. In this video Brad goes through different lifting techniques to target your quads. The Powertec Compact Leg Sled offers the pressing capabilities of a traditional 45 degree leg press at a fraction of the price and footprint. A good quality 45 degree leg press costs thousands and takes a load of space - a luxury not all of us can afford one exercise. Probably the biggest misconception I see with customers is the amount of weight they think is required to get an adequate workout from either the Powertec Compact Leg Sled or a traditional 45 degree leg press. You can lift a ton of weight on either machine. But just because you can lift it does't mean that it is achieving the desired result. The most important part is to get into the right position which Brad explains in this video perfectly. To effectively isolate the quads you need to pushing the weight through your heals. If you are pushing through the balls of your feet you are loading up your knees and I can feel it the next day.On the Powertec Compact Leg Sled Matt and I like doing 5 sets of 15 reps at 150kgs. We find performing the exercise with strict form and no pause at the top - we go up and down like a piston - really does the trick. The last set is a real killer and our quads are on fire.
