What Happened to the ATX-CAL Club Barbell Attachment?
The ATX Club Barbell Attachment was many of the innovative barbell aids offered by ATX. The Bomb Grip allowed you better grip the barbell compared with grabbing the sleeve. Below you can see how this enabled many dynamic and explosive movements.
You could also wrap a barbell pad around the skinny section of the shaft. Now you could comfortably rest the barbell on your shoulders and perform lunges and squats.
We actually used to sell quite a few of these. Especially before covid. However once prices started increasing after covid the sales started slowing. It was a handy attachment, but ultimately one it was a luxury.
For some personal trainers, these barbell accessories are great. Especially if you train outdoors. You can squeeze so many exercises out of very basic, compact and affordable equipment. To the uninitiated, something like the landmine squat attachment may seem expensive.
However to an experienced trainer it is a compact device that allows you to do two great exercises – squats and viking press. I know this is not going to win you a strongman or powerlifting competition. But it is perfect for outdoor or group training.
