Choosing the right gym equipment can be a nightmare these days. There are way too many equipment options. Layered on top of that is all the various opinions that are voiced on weight training. Some people say smith machines are bad while others swear by them. If this sounds like your predicament, then maybe your search is over?
By offering the Smith Machine Bar Attachment as an option for their ATX-PRX-780 Power Rack, you can hedge your bets. Why not just start out with the power rack and see how you go. If you would like to add some smith exercises you can simply add it on. Alternatively, if free weight barbell exercises are enough then don’t. At least you have the option to choose.
NOT JUST A GIMMICK
Many manufacturers are falling over themselves to add extra options to their equipment. It is after all a great marketing ploy. However, while this may all look great on a computer screen. The reality is that many do not live up to the hype in the gym. Poor design and average materials can make these gimmicks frustrating to use.
On the other hand, ATX are in the fortunate position of having loads of tried and tested designs in their arsenal. The Smith Machine Bar Attachment utilises many parts and design elements that have featured on their gyms. Quality linear bearings combined with 30mm solid steel guide rails give you that genuine commercial gym equipment feel.
Another clever design feature is the adjustable 20mm solid steel start/stop pins. Similar designs feature fixed lockout pins. These are great and convenient. However, they can really impact the functionality of the power rack. It will rule out flip down spotters, plus using the inside of the front posts of the power rack.
The ATX design allows you to quickly change the lockout positions by hand. These quick release screws are used on many of the ATX rack attachments. They make adjustments quick and easy. The safety spotters also utilise this system as well.
