I bought the ATX Safety Squat Bar a couple of months ago (Aug ’24), and it has exceeded my expectations. The design effectively keeps my back straight while relieving pressure on my wrists and shoulders – two areas that used to give me trouble when using a standard barbell. I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my quad workouts, and I’ve recently started adding calf raises as well. I’m excited to explore even more exercises with this bar in the future.

Easy to put together. Feels very high end and is super comfortable across the shoulders. Padding is thick and spongy and the gap between the handle pads is the perfect width. Handles are the perfect length, are spaced to perfection and have the perfect amount of gnurl. The fact that the handles are offset to a different angle to the bar camber makes all the difference – it means the bar is far better balanced and not folding you awkwardly forwards like my last SSB. Just a great piece of kit. If you are considering this bar, do yourself a favour and grab it.
