Power Maxx Olympic 5kg Fractional Plate Set

The Power Maxx 5kg Fractional Plate Set will be a welcome addition to any gym. Whether you’re a serious strength athlete looking to break through plateaus. Or a beginner lifter who finds 5kg jumps too intimidating.
There are so many benefits of training with fractional plates that we had to write an entire article about it. And it’s definitely worth reading if you’re not yet sold.
If you don’t have change plates in your home gym you’re doing something wrong! When you get past the beginner phase of training you will know just how big of a jump 2.5kg can feel. Fractional plates allow you to increase the weight in smaller increments so you keep progressing even when a 2.5kg jump is too steep.
The set comes with a pair of 0.25kg, 0.5kg, 0.75kg & 1kg plates. They are colour-coded and have weight markings.

These are designed only for Olympic sleeves. These plates are not calibrated.

I got this set so I can go up in smaller steps than 2.5 kg. This set gives me every 0.5 kg step up to 5 kg.
The set is exactly as advertised. The plates fit nicely onto the olympic bars at my local commercial gym. The construction is basic – seems like cast iron with epoxy paint (I’m guessing, based on the look and feel, and the sound when they plink together).
The description says they’re not calibrated. I happen to have access to a set of grocer scales. In my set, the 0.25 kg and 0.5 kg plates are spot on (within a gram), while the 0.75 kg plates are a few grams heavy, and the 0.5 kg plates are about 10 grams heavy.
Overall: does exactly what it’s supposed to do, and it was the cheapest option I could find.
