Cable attachments transform any cable machine or power rack into a complete workout tool. Whether you’re chasing bigger arms with EZ bars and tricep ropes, building a stronger back with row handles, or isolating specific muscles with ankle attachments, the right attachment makes the difference. We stock the full range of gym cable attachments—straight bars, lat pulldown handles, single-handle attachments, V-bars, and more—built for durability and precision grip.
Straight bars, EZ bars, and lat pulldown bars for targeted muscle isolation and heavy compound movements.
Ropes, single-handle attachments, and specialty grips for isolation work and unilateral training.
V-bars, ankle straps, and specialty grips for targeted back and leg work.
Most attachments use standard fittings, but check three things: the carabiner or D-ring size, the cable diameter, and whether your machine uses a metric or imperial pin. Sam’s ATX and Spud Inc attachments fit virtually all standard power racks and cable machines, but if you’re unsure, take a photo of your rack’s connection point and email sales@samsfitness.com.au — we’ll confirm before you buy.
Five attachments cover 90% of cable exercises: (1) tricep rope — for pushdowns, face pulls, hammer curls; (2) straight bar — for curls, pushdowns, lat pulldowns; (3) lat pulldown bar (long, curved) — for lat work; (4) V-grip handle — for close-grip rows and pulldowns; (5) single D-handle — for cable crossovers, single-arm rows. Sam’s stocks ATX, Spud Inc, and GymPin attachments — buy the basic 5-piece kit first and add specialty items later.
Three measurements: (1) carabiner / clip diameter — most are 8-10mm, check yours can fit; (2) cable diameter — most home cable systems use 4mm to 6mm cable, attachment connection point should match; (3) machine pin or hook size — universal pins are 11mm or 21mm. ATX and Spud Inc use industry-standard fittings that work with virtually all standard cable machines. If you’re unsure, send us a photo (sales@samsfitness.com.au) of your machine’s connection point and we’ll confirm before you order.
For home use, a 100kg / 220lb rating is plenty — most cable systems max out at 100kg stacks. For commercial use or heavy strongman-style training (like Spud Inc straps for hip thrusts, sled drags), look for 200kg / 440lb minimum. Spud Inc straps are designed by competitive powerlifters and are rated well above home gym needs. ATX heavy-duty attachments are 250kg+ rated.
Yes — Sam’s stocks replacement cables, pulleys, J-hooks, spotter pins, and connection hardware for all major brands we carry (ATX, Power Maxx, Megatec, Ironmaster, Barbarian Line). For obsolete or unusual gear, call us on 1300 790 432 with the make, model, and a photo — we can usually source a replacement or recommend a compatible part. We’re known in Australia for keeping older equipment running long after manufacturers stop supporting it.
A row handle (single loop) promotes unilateral or two-handed rows with a neutral grip. A V-bar creates a narrower grip angle, emphasizing upper back and mid-back tension. V-bars also reduce wrist stress. Most lifters prefer V-bars for power and row handles for comfort.
A straight bar and a rope attachment cover ~70% of exercises. Add a row handle second, then explore specialty options like ankle attachments or EZ bars based on your training focus.
Wipe down regularly with a damp cloth to remove sweat and dust. For nylon components, avoid extended sunlight exposure. Steel components resist corrosion but benefit from an occasional light oil if stored long-term. Store in a cool, dry place.
