These pins typically come with stretchable lanyards so they can be secured to their designated machine. Once the umbilical cord is cut, the weight stack pin roams free in your gym and is now subject to being misplaced. More pins go missing and more gym equipment remains idle.
For home trainers, you can upgrade your existing pin to one that does have the lanyard. The other handy part of these pins with lanyard is they also have magnets. The magnetic feature is not really a big deal, but it really looks cool when the pin sticks firmly against the weight stack.
