Bolts – before starting grab a ruler and a sharpie. Measure each bolt and write down the bolt number next to it. This will make the assembly process much more streamlined.

The frame’s base is straightforward to assemble, requiring only basic skills. You should have no trouble putting it together.

Assembly Tip – Don’t Over tighten

When installing the bearings, note that their housing is made of cast iron. Unlike steel, cast iron won’t bend if you overtighten the bolts—it will crack. To avoid damage, take extra care not to apply too much force when tightening the bearing housing bolts.

The gas spring is the trickiest part of this build. Attaching it correctly may take a few tries. Start by centering the upright. Then, tilt it back and push the gas spring into place, following the technique shown in the video. If that doesn’t work, try aligning it first, then giving it a gentle push with your foot to secure it.

Aside from this one part – which with some ATX-BSM-600 Assembly Tips it is not that tricky – this belt squat is a relatively easy pieces of gym equipment for legs to build. Unlike a leg press machine, this has a much smaller structure. Plus the total weight is less so there are not many heavy parts to work with.
