ATX® LEG EXTENSION LEG CURL ATTACHMENT
The German Engineers certainly went all out on the new Leg Extension/Leg Curl Attachment. It no longer serves as an attachment but a replacement for a freestanding machine.
Suitable for new generation of benches. The attachment will not work with older benches.
Features:
Quick to Adjust
Quick-Adjustment Pins – change the depth of the pads in a split second.
PU Upholstery
All upholstery is manufactured out of Durable Polyurethane – which does not absorb sweat and is designed to last much longer than the regular foam counterpart.
Ergonomic Design
Anatomically shaped support pad makes a world of a difference for both leg extensions and leg curls.
Choose the Right Height
Adjustable height – allows you to bring the attachment to the perfect position.
High Safe Working Load
100 kgs safe working load – offers more than enough room to grow even for the strongest individuals.
Smooth Movement
Ball Bearing Rotating Axis – ensures a smooth movement.
Optimal Range of Motion
Optimized Range of Motion – The included rubber stoppers will prevent the attachment from hitting you during lying leg curls.
CONTINUOUS INNOVATION
The old ATX leg attachment and bench configuration was widely regarded in garage gym circles as one of the best set ups. A lot of cheaper benches offer leg attachments. However, people find out the hard way that they are not properly designed.
Whether it be a roller height set halfway up your shin. Or the range of motion that does not hit the sweet spot. The cheaper solutions are not satisfactory for a dedicated home user or personal trainer. In this day and age quality gym equipment costs money.
MORE THAN AN ATTACHMENT
I know some reading this will be baulking at the price. Don’t worry I did too. But the old model was getting up in the price range too. That previous leg attachment had far less features.
ATX realised that the gym landscape had changed after the pandemic. Inflation was driving up prices across the board. In response they have designed items so that you get some value from the price increase.
In the case of the Leg Extension attachment, it was a complete redesign from top to bottom. Previously the attachment accommodated a wide band of users based on their body shape. It had two adjustment positions for both the leg extension and the leg curl. To change the position, you needed to undo a bolt, plus take the rollers off one end. It was not exactly easy.
The new design features adjustable rollers that can be adjusted by way of commercial spring pins. To change the pad height is now dead easy. Did I mention that the pads are now made out of polyurethane instead of foam? The old-style foam pads lasted a long time, but would eventually need replacing after consistent use. The commercial PU rollers last a lot longer.
INNOVATIVE DESIGN
While we are on the topic of pads, check out the new triangular top roller. For leg extensions it fits perfectly into the bend of your knee. For lying leg curls it provides a flat surface. Why is this important?
Over the years of selling leg extension attachments, some people complain about their quads on the roller. Typically, a dedicated leg curl machine in the gym will have a flat surface on which your quad rests. When they are resting on a roller there is less surface area to disperse the load.
If it got you in the wrong spot some would say it hurt. Sort of like the sensation when you are working your quads with a foam roller. Personally, I never had such an issue. You just had to reposition yourself to find the right spot. Plus I have trained on these attachments for so long you just get used to it.
Nonetheless ATX have provided a solution to this problem. Personal trainers will love this and understand why such details are important. It is one less thing people have to complain about!.
Another small detail is the angled weight horn. I did not need a barbell collar on the sleeve when I trained. Using slow and controlled reps ensures the weight does not move. But if you have experienced this issue, you need not worry about using collars.
FOR THE COMMITTED TRAINER
If you are just starting out or on a budget, just stick to basic gym equipment. You will need to educate yourself on how to perform exercises with limited equipment. Just do not buy sub standard gym equipment.
For the rest of you, weight training is a lifelong commitment. You need to buy your equipment accordingly. Both the leg extension and lying hamstring curls are exercises that should be performed well into your twilight years. Personally I do both every leg workout. Not just as a warm up but mostly for general leg health.
When you assess the value of the ATX Leg Extension Leg Curl Attachment in this way, the price tag is not too steep. Especially when you consider that you are getting the same or better performance when compared to a dedicated machine.

Have been umming and erring for quite a while on this.
Decided to bite the bullet.
Glad I did.
This thing is built like a German tank!
Super smooth in action and in set up.
Don’t think about it like I did.
Just do it and enjoy the burn!🙂👍
