5 Years – T & Cs

The Pendulum Squat Machine by ATX is designed for trainers who want to isolate their quads, while minimising the stress on their knees and lower backs. ATX are World leaders in quality commercial plate loaded machines. That is how they can offer a superior Pendulum Squat at a better price than the competition.

For those of you who are familiar with Pendulum Squat machines, you know what the fuss is all about with this exercise. If you are looking at this ATX machine for your gym you are probably wondering about the quality and bio mechanics. Check out Big Dave from Brisbane North Barbell’s story and that should put your mind at ease.

Aside from being great quality and functional, the ATX Pendulum Squat is compact. At just over 2m in length, it is relatively compact when compared to other commercial leg machines. To top it off, it is very well priced for a machine of this quality.

If you are not familiar with the Pendulum Squat exercise, once again reference Big Dave. The man has a set of wheels, and for him to be crippled is no easy task.

This exercise has an uncanny way of hitting muscles in your legs that you never knew you had! Thanks to the angled footplate you can go deep. This engages the glutes.

However once you are out of the hole, you can feel the quads take over. Somehow it manages to work all these muscles with minimal load on the back and knees.

  1. Dave

We recently added the ATX Pendulum Squat from Sam’s Fitness to Brisbane North Barbell and it has been an excellent addition.

Build quality is top notch, very smooth through the full range, and it delivers a huge quad stimulus with minimal spinal load. It has been especially useful for lifters who still want to train legs hard without beating up their lower back.

The loading is very effective too. Even with a 250kg+ squatter, 50kg is enough for a tough 6 to 10 reps. Most of our female members are working in the 0 to 15kg range, and most males in the 15 to 25kg range.

Overall, a high quality machine that does exactly what it is designed for. Very happy with it.

  2. Jesse Munchow (verified owner)

I recently added the ATX Pendulum Squat to my home gym. My only regret is not adding it sooner. It is an absolute leg destroyer. Tiny footprint, insane quad isolation, and zero load beating up your shoulders or back. The stretch at the bottom is nasty in the best way, depth is elite, and you don’t even need much weight to light your quads up. Bands on it are sick too — you can make the bottom easier or crank the resistance hard through the top.

For anyone who struggles with squat range of motion, this machine makes it so much easier to get deep and really work the legs without fighting mobility limitations.

The fixed footplate is a trade-off for the compact design, and honestly it hasn’t been an issue at all. I’ve used the Arsenal Strength and Atlantis pendulum squats, and I don’t miss the adjustable footplate one bit.

Thank you so much for the review Jesse. To get different angles, I just move my foot position up and down the footplate.
