The original Quick Lock Adjustable Kettlebell Handle was regarded as a great way to get into kettlebell training without having to purchase a range of kettlebells.
The only downside was that the handle weighed 22.5lbs or 10.2kgs. This was a bit heavy for warmups or some one-handed movements. I previously advised customers to purchase a couple of lighter kettlebells for these exercises. This was not a massive drama as the lighter kettlebells are cheaper.
True to their traditions, Ironmaster designed and engineered a solution to this issue. By redesigning the handle they were able to significantly reduce the weight. The new mould eliminates a large internal section of the handle, while still retaining the overall structural integrity.

Uses the same weight plates and locking screws as the Ironmaster Quick-Lock Dumbbells.
Empty kettlebell handle weight: 12.5 lbs
Weight range using the QLDB standard locking screws: 12.5 – 47.5 lbs (5.7 – 21.5 kg).
Weight range using the QLDB Add on Kit locking screws: 47.5 – 70 lbs (21.5 – 31.8 kg) .
Adjustable in 2.5 lb increments.
Grip diameter: 1.2 inches (30.5 mm)
Dimensions: 8.75 inches (222 mm) wide x 7.75 inches (197 mm) tall for the empty handle.
Stands 11.5 inches (292 mm) tall at 47.5 lbs (21.5 kg), and 13.75 inches (349 mm) tall at 70 lbs (31.8 kg).

Weight is marked in both LBS and KGS. KB Handle weighs approx 5.67 KG.
Which Handle Should I CHOOSE?
If you are not sure which adjustable kettlebell handle to use, let me help make the decision for you. If you have got the add on kit, I would probably get the 12.lb handle. This combo ranges from 5.7kg to 31.8kg which is a pretty good spread of weights for most users. If you didn’t, get the original kettlebell handle and you will have 10.2 to 26kg spread.
Do not deliberate too much. If you are looking at Ironmaster products you are already most likely familiar with their standing in the garage gym community. If you aren’t aware you won’t have to look far to find they are one of the premium global brands. So just get a handle and start training. My recommendation would be to buy just a single handle to start out with.
Once familiar with your adjustable kettlebell, you will know if you need another – heavier, lighter or the same if you want to do two handed exercises. Even if you end up getting a pair of each, the outlay is minimal compared to the range of kettlebells you will own. They will last forever which makes it even a better investment.
