The Power Maxx Olympic Plate & Barbell Stand is great for gyms with plenty of bars. It is not uncommon for even a home gym to have a large barbell collection. For example a 7ft bar, EZ curl barbell, hammer curl barbell, multi-grip bar – there are so many variations these days.
Eventually when you have quite a few barbells lying around, you’re going to need a way to store them. The Power Maxx Olympic Stand is perfect for this. It allows you to store up to six barbells, plus weight plates!
Please note: this stand is only suitable for Olympic barbells and weights, with a diameter of 50mm.

I bought the Power Maxx Olympic Plate and Barbell Stand to try and satisfy my home gym storage needs. My barbell collection has grown to five and I have a collection of bumper plates that I was storing on my power rack. The problem with the power rack storage was that it interfered with the actual use of the rack, so wasn’t satisfactory.
Overall, I am pleased with my purchase and the service from Sam’s Fitness was, as usual, exceptional (great job, guys). The stand is high quality and assembled easily. It will solve a lot of my storage problems.
One word of caution for prospective buyers, though, which I only fully realised when I placed weights on the stand. The spacing between the plate storage pegs is too narrow to take three sets of olympic bumper plates. It will take a combination of bumper plates and smaller conventional plates, but will not accept three rows of bumper plates. if you look at the picture, you can see this, but I only realised after the purchase.
I am not sure why Power Maxx chose not to design the stand so that it would accept bumper plates on all three levels of pegs. Go figure. To me, it would be an obvious choice, as the current design limits storage capacity unnecessarily.
That one limitation aside, it is a good stand and I am pleased with it.

Thank you for your review Peter. There is a good reason why the stand does not have complete bumper spacing – tip hazard. Once you start extending the height of a plate stand you really need to increase the base.
Personally I am not a massive fan of the 5kg bumpers. So these stands work perfectly with your 10kg,15kg,20kg & 25kg bumpers and then put your smaller plates in the middle horns.
