SPUD KNEE SLEEVES 1 PLY
The Spud Knee Sleeves 1 Ply are made from a comfortable but durable material. They are not just for your squat variations. You can wear them if you are running the yoke or for your sled work.
The material is the perfect balance. It provides enough support for serious strength training and powerlifting. But you can comfortably move through a full range of motion on bodyweight squats. They won’t launch you back up to the starting position like the stronger 2 Ply sleeves.
WEAR THEM TILL THEY STINK
I can personally vouch for the durability of the Spud Knee Sleeves. My knees have always been a problem. It does not matter which squat movement I choose. Or how many sessions I spend at the physio or stretching. After a while I will experience some form of issue around the knee joint.
The Spud Knee Sleeves will not solve these issues. You need to do your rehab, stretching and speciality exercises. But from my experience they do reduce the risk of injury. Plus they do allow you to enjoy the benefits of squats without the knee pain.
Now I am onto my second pair. Not because the first pair wore out. Even after washing them, they started getting a bit of a funky smell. So, I splashed out and got a second pair.
KNEE COMPRESSION WORKS!
If you have not worn knee sleeves before you are in for a treat. They do make a difference on your squat. The compression gives you greater stability. I am not sure how much of it is mental. But you do lift more with them on.
That is why it is important to invest in a quality pair. If you want to get the benefit of compression, they are going to be tight. So, they will be hard to pull on. A poorly made pair will either not provide adequate support. Or they will fall to pieces after repeated use.
If you see the average size and strength of a Spud customer, you know that they have to make their products strong.
Although the Spud Knee Sleeves are not approved for IPF competitions, they are still handy for competitive powerlifters. IPF approved sleeves are expensive. If you want to keep your competition sleeves fresh for competition, grab a pair of Spud sleeves for your general training.
As you peak for your competition, switch to your IPF approved ones. This will make your expensive ones last for longer.
We don’t have all the sizes in physically in stock at our warehouse. If you order before Wednesday we can normally ship out Tuesday the following week.
