Just like the 1.25kg Olympic Plates, people think they can do without 2.5kg plates. Especially if you watch bodybuilding DVD’s where they slap on 20’s like 5kg plates.
But for us mere mortals, I can tell you that you are nuts if you don’t get 2.5kg Olympic weight plates. A plate on either side is a 5kg jump.
You don’t see dumbbell sets in increments of 10kg. So don’t try training with a barbell and make 10kg jumps! If you are trying to get your missus on board with weight training these will be a must. She will obviously need them, but you will look like a prawn when you are trying to make 10kg jumps on arm curls.
