Why would you need a pad as thick as this?
It’s pretty simple – combine a slim, worn out pad (as typically found in your local gym) and some bad form and you’ve got yourself an express ticket to a nasty shoulder injury.
The Fat Pad provides you with a more stable position on the bench press, while still favouring the freedom of movement of the shoulder blades, reducing the risk of injury.
The ATX® Fat Pad is made specifically for the ATX-FBX-800, ATX-OBX-700, ATX-FBX-610 & ATX-CO-RACK, but it can be mounted on any flat bench provided the holes in the bench are the same as in the pad.
NOTE: Screws are not included, you can use the same screws from your ATX® Flat Bench.
What’s Included? ATX® Fat Pad (ATX-FATPAD-T1)
Please note the pictures may feature optional attachments or items which are not included with the unit, this is to show the possible configurations/use of the unit.
Megan –
This is an illegal copy of Donnie Thompson’s Fat Pad. Additionally, there is no mechanism by which I can leave fewer than 5 stars.
Sam Lucas –
Hi Megan, could you provide me a link to the relevant patent for this product. I couldn’t find it here – https://patents.google.com/?q=(fat+pad+bench)&oq=fat+pad+bench or here – https://patents.google.com/?inventor=donnie+thompson&oq=donnie+thompson. Secondly ATX is a European company, so can you find the patent for the EU. Thirdly we are Australian and I could not find the patent here.
I am just trying to find out what is illegal?
Cheers, Sam.

I love it. My bench press has never felt more solid.
