HI SAM,

IT ALL LOOKS AND WORKS GREAT! NOW JUST WISH I HAD MORE ROOM IN GARAGE FOR MORE GEAR!!

KIND REGARDS, KRISTY

Kristy was looking at the Powertec Leg Sled and the Leg Press Attachment. There is no question that the Leg Sled is the superior machine. However as you can see from Kristy’s note above that space is an issue in her home gym – I think everyone wishes they could squeeze more gym equipment in no matter how big their home gym is! So the leg sled was not an option.

However after demonstrating how to use the Leg Press Attachment, as well as discussing different training methods with Kristy she went with the attachment. Kirsty was interested in a pressing option for some rehab on a knee injury. This would only require light weight so the attachment is perfect.

Her husband would also be using it too. So I said how the attachment is great for doing higher rep work or incorporating into giant sets. One thing I have found is that men in particular have this mindset of only working in the 6-15 rep range. It is hard to get through to them that there is a whole new world out there beyond this.

Weight training is not only about grunting out 8 reps. This is particularly the case with legs which often respond better to higher reps. Lee Priest had been telling me this for a while so I filmed him talking about his training sessions with Tom Platz.

Weight training at home will always be a compromise unless you have endless money and space. You might not always have the equipment to do exactly what you want to do. But that is half the fun. You find another way, which sometimes can actually be more beneficial.
